Routing FAQ & troubleshooting

Do I have to build the whole route by hand?
No. Offload proposes a route on the map, jurisdiction by jurisdiction, and already avoids restricted roads for your vehicle's dimensions. Adjustments are usually small touch-ups (adding a waypoint or dragging the route), not a rebuild.
What does the planner check for me?
Multi-state routing with jurisdiction-aware analysis, bridge clearance checks against the load's height and width, restricted-road avoidance based on the load's dimensions and weight, and conflict flagging (low clearance, narrow passage, weight limit) along the route so you can reroute before the truck rolls.
How does the route get to the driver?
Two ways: export the planned route as a PDF turn-by-turn guide, or let it ride along in the driver's app on the load. Either way the driver follows the exact roads you approved.
As a driver, what happens if I go off route?
Offload tells you. A short detour for gas or a rest stop usually isn't a problem (return to your route as soon as it's safe). If a road closure, accident, or detour keeps you off route, call dispatch before going much further. They can update the permit or the route. See Navigation.
What if the navigation looks wrong?
If a turn doesn't feel right or a road looks too tight, pull over somewhere safe, tap End to stop navigation, open the Routes tab to look at the path, and call your dispatcher. They see the same route and can help or update it from the web. Never fight the truck through a spot that doesn't feel right.
How do curfews work while driving?
Some permits have curfews (hours you're not allowed to run). Offload knows them from your permit and announces them out loud as you get close, and each curfew also shows up in your turn-by-turn directions so you can see it coming. If you hear a curfew warning, find a safe place to park and wait it out. (Curfews are set on the office side when the permit is reviewed; ask your dispatcher if you want them confirmed before you leave.)
