Equipment Planning

The Equipment Manifest helps you track what equipment a project needs, what’s already on site, and what still needs to be hauled in. It gives you a clear picture of equipment requirements so nothing gets left behind.

What the Equipment Manifest shows

The Equipment Manifest is a per-project view that compares:

  • Required equipment — What the project needs on a given day
  • On-site equipment — What’s already at the job site
  • On loads — What’s currently assigned to loads heading to or from the site

This three-way comparison makes it easy to spot gaps — equipment that’s needed but not yet assigned to a load.

Viewing the Equipment Manifest

  1. In Load Cards or Crew Board view, open the Projects panel on the right
  2. Select a project
  3. The Equipment Manifest appears showing the project’s equipment status

Defining equipment requirements

Equipment requirements specify what resource types a project needs. For example, a project might require 2 lowboy trailers and 1 crane.

Adding a requirement

  1. Open the project in the dispatch view
  2. Navigate to the equipment requirements section
  3. Select a resource type (e.g., “Lowboy Trailer”)
  4. Set the quantity needed
  5. Save the requirement

Requirement fulfillment

Each requirement shows a badge indicating whether it’s met:

  • Fulfilled — Enough resources of that type are assigned to cover the requirement
  • Unfulfilled — More resources are still needed

Offload compares the assigned trailers, trucks, and equipment against the defined requirements to calculate fulfillment automatically.

Commodity-level equipment

When a load carries multiple commodities, each commodity can have its own equipment needs. For example, one commodity might need a lowboy trailer while another needs a flatbed.

Assigning equipment to a commodity

  1. Open the load card with multiple commodities
  2. Find the commodity that needs equipment
  3. Drag a trailer or equipment from the Resource Grid onto the commodity, or use the assignment button
  4. The resource is linked to that specific commodity

This level of detail helps ensure each piece of freight has the right equipment assigned.

Planning across dates

The Equipment Manifest updates as you schedule loads across dates. You can check equipment status for each day to verify:

  • Equipment arriving on today’s loads covers tomorrow’s requirements
  • Equipment leaving the site is no longer needed
  • No gaps exist between what’s required and what’s available
